Assign Options to Your Products
Before your options can appear on your storefront, you need to assign them to the products that should display them. Infinite Options gives you several ways to target products, and this guide will help you choose the method that works best for your store.
You can follow the steps below or start by watching the video.
Step 1: Open Your Option SetOpen Infinite Options.
Go to Option Sets in the left sidebar.
Create a new Option Set or open an existing one.
Inside the Option Set, you will see a light-blue assignment area at the top of the page.

Step 2: Choose an Identifier
You can assign an Option Set using different identifiers:
All Products: Displays the Option Set on every product in your store
Selected Products: Choose specific products one by one
Product Type: Assign the Option Set to all products with the same Product Type
Tag: Assign options to any product with a specific Shopify tag
Vendor: Shows the Option Set on products from a specific vendor
URL: Targets one product using its full product URL
Handle: Targets one product using the shortened URL (for example,
classic-varsity-top)
Each method helps you control where your options appear, depending on your catalog size and how your products are organized.
Important: Option Sets Are Assigned to Products, Not Variants
Infinite Options assigns Option Sets at the product level, not the variant level. Option Sets cannot be attached directly to individual variants.
Step 3: Enter Your Matching Text
After choosing an identifier, start typing the matching text.
When Infinite Options recognizes the product or group, it will appear below the field.
Select it to apply the assignment.
Below the assignment box, you will see how many products match your rule.
You can click the blue preview link to see how the options will appear on those products before saving.

Step 4: Use AND and OR for More Control
To get more specific, you can add additional rules with AND or OR:
AND shows options only when a product matches all rules
OR shows options when a product matches any of the rules
This is helpful for large catalogs or stores with more complex setups.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
Click Save in the upper right corner.
