Can I export options with orders via a CSV file?
At this time, Shopify does not include option selections (line item properties) when exporting orders via CSV. This is a Shopify limitation and applies to all apps that store options as line item properties, including Infinite Options.
That means if you export orders from Shopify using a CSV file, the option details selected by customers won’t be included by default.
How to export option data anyway
While Shopify doesn’t support this natively, there are ways to work around it.
Apps like MESA can copy option data into places Shopify does export, such as order notes or Google Sheets. MESA provides ready-made templates that can be installed with a single click.
There are two common solutions:
Export options via order notes This template copies option selections into the order notes so they can be included when exporting orders to another service. Click here
Export options to Google Sheets This template sends option selections directly to a Google Sheet for reporting or fulfillment workflows. Click here
